The Player I Most Want to Make the Team? « Kansas City Chiefs »

I'm glad you asked.

Chris Horn.

He'll never make the Hall of Fame, no. But he plays his heart out, and the Chiefs will be better with him than without him.

Just doing my part to keep Craig informed.

I agree, but where do you fit him in with Mitchell now? Is Thorpe the odd man out?

Well, it's always possible Mitchell doesn't make the team, right? A few years back, I would have thought Tony Horne was going to make the team as a returner, at least.

But let's assume Mitchell makes the team as at least the #3 guy (which is what I'm thinking).

The people below him in the struggle for a roster spot should be:
Boerigter: if fully recoverd, may have some rust. Or he may come back at the level he left, which was a solid #2 and possible #1 receiver.
Chris Horn: we've already discussed him. But to recap, he seems to always exceed expectations.
Richard Smith: looked great in pre-season, wasn't a factor in the regular season. He should have improved based on having a full off-season with the Chiefs, and a full year in the system. But maybe he already peaked?
Craphonso Thorpe: He may be the steal of the draft, or he could be a bust. He had the speed, and claims to be fully recovered from his broken leg 2 years ago. But maybe he needs a season on the practice squad?

And a season-ending injury can happen in training camp to anyone. I hope it doesn't...

But the bottom line is that if everyone improved according to expectations, and no one gets injured, I do fear that Chris Horn might be the odd man out...which is why I'm hoping for him to make the team most.

I don't read the Sports section, so I missed this one.

I hope Chris does well. That's a pretty big deal to come out of RMC and get to the NFL.
