Freedom.
...for Freedom's sake alone? If so, to what extent?
Or does Freedom have a utility? If so, what should the desired outcome of Freedom be?
I have my thoughts on this, but I'd rather hear some of your thoughts first.
That's a huge subject for a society that once had to define the meaning of " IS ".
Freedom for freedom's sake alone. There is no such thing as absolute freedom. That would be anarchy.... on the other hand peace at all costs, leads to no freedom at all. Freedom using whatever means possible in order to retain some freedom is subjugation. Then Freedom is also a relative term.
One thing I have picked up from the mideast is their idea of self determination. Tho they have a bent idea socially because of their culture, it is the closest thing I know to the idea of freedom.
