Anyone who ever uses the term "Speaking Truth to Power" in my presence will automatically lose all credibility on just about any issue imaginable. Forever.
WTF does that even mean?
Posted by: Sharp as a Marble at December 13, 2004 11:31 AMThe burr du jour under my saddle is any form of the phrase 'to reach out.' As soon is I bump into that in an article, I stop reading. The only instance of non-purile 'reaching out' is in the Sistine Chapel. All else is treacle.

Exactly!
Gary,
I've got a bunch of 'em. "To reach out" is a worthy addition to my list. Thanks.
I'm with SaaM -- I don't even know what the heck it means.
Reach out and speak truth to power as a means of facilitating synergistic energy FOR THE CHILDREN!
Posted by: Grouchy Old Yorkie Lady at December 14, 2004 05:46 AMWhile simultaneously visualising world peace. Er, 'giving peace a chance', I mean. Or is it, 'having a plan to win the peace' ? I get confused, it's all too nuanced for me.
Posted by: Nathan at December 14, 2004 05:53 AMOh yes, that's much better:
Reach out and speak truth to power as a means of facilitating synergistic energy while visualising world peace and a plan to win that peace FOR THE CHILDREN!
